About Gabriel Verkade, designer, gardener, marketer, traveller, sustainable living enthusiast.

Gabriel Verkade is an innovative landscape designer born into the horticulture trade by entrepreneurial Dutch immigrants. Raised in rural Niagara, he demonstrated his love of the outdoors by helping to build his family’s acclaimed environmentally-friendly greenhouse business and gardens.

Driven to connect his entrepreneurial spirit and creative ideas, Gabriel led multiple award-winning national campaigns for brands such as Tic Tac and Dove.  Following his passion for design and the environment, he completed his Landscape Design degree at Ryerson University and established Verkade Landscape Design in 2009.

His enthusiasm for studying the way people relate to their environment through his world travels inspires his human-centric design approach.  Ultimately, he wishes to enhance the lifestyle of his clients by creating spaces that reflect their unique personality and help facilitate reconnection with friends, family and, most of all, with nature.
